I’ve wanted an air fryer for awhile now, but I kept hearing complaints that they were too small. My stepmom said even just for her and my Dad, she had to make several batches to have enough of anything for a meal. That would never work for us, with 8 people to feed!
Two words convinced me I had to find a larger option for us: PORK CHOPS. Pork chops are the bane of my existence. We raise our own pork and get a lot of pork chops every year. Frying them in a pan or on the grill is such a mess, and baking dries them out. I was making them in the Instant Pot but the texture wasn’t right. Woe was me, so many pork chops…
Enter a gamechanger, the Instant Omni 9-in-1 Toaster Oven with Air Fry, Dehydrate, Toast, Roast, Bake, Broil, and Reheat Features. Otherwise known as AMAZING! I found a few other toaster oven style air fryers but when I saw that Instant was making one I decided to stick with them. I had excellent customer service from Instant when one of our Instant Pots had a problem, so I felt good trusting them. We have both the 6 qt. and 8 qt. pots… I’m a little bit of an addict. 😉
The Omni did not disappoint. The obligatory pork chops were the best I have ever made, and now we are steadily using our stash of pork. I can put 6 chops in the frying basket, and then keep them warm on the bottom level while I cook 6 more or a side dish. Homemade bagel pizzas have become another new favorite. The Reheat mode takes the sogginess right out of leftovers like pizza and chicken tenders. Grilled cheese comes out delicious, without heating up the big oven. Oh, and steak!! I can make steak for 8 people with only a few minutes of work – no babysitting the grill – and it tastes divine. I can even do it well done without burning it. The only thing we’ve used the oven for since we got the Omni is nachos, because we make those on two giant pans.
I grabbed the Omni from our local Walmart. There is an Omni Plus on Amazon that has a few different features, but the regular Omni is a Walmart exclusive and it’s cheaper. They don’t seem to be available to ship, and they sell out fast. You should be able to reserve one by buying online and then pickup at the store later. That way you can use Rakuten, too, to get some cash back.
If you have questions, comment or shoot me a message and I can tell you all I know. I can share some recipes, too, if you guys are interested. Hope this helps make those busy weeknights a little easier!
