Get Your Pretty On Review: Summer & Fall

I can’t believe it’s already almost officially winter! It has been a whole year since I first signed up for Get Your Pretty On. I already told you a little about the spring capsule, but I thought I’d do a review after the summer and fall outfits. If you have no idea what Get Your Pretty On is, check out my first post for a full explanation.

What does it cost?

I spent a fair amount of money on clothes for spring, in part because my mom wardrobe was mostly stained, ill-fitting, and just plain wore out. I spent some again in the summer to get shorts and cooler tops. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the fall and winter wardrobes called for *a lot* of the staples I had already purchased. For fall and now for winter, I’ve just been purchasing a few fun statement pieces that I expect to use for years to come. I even bought some new pieces of jewelry this time because I had more room in the budget. I usually skip most of the accessories.

While the wardrobes do usually include some basic pieces to keep costs down, I’m told that even more staples are being included this year because of the pandemic. With it being hard to shop right now and slow to have items shipped, the GYPO team is trying to make life as easy as possible. This makes it a great time to jump in and try it if you want to freshen up your style with a minimal investment.

How It Helped Me

In case you didn’t see my original post – let me remind you why I first took a chance on GYPO. I had been living in sweats and pajamas for a very long time. I had 6 kids under 7 at one point! Needless to say it was a bit overwhelming. I was lucky to shower and put clean pajamas on, nevemind get dressed in real clothes. I also wasn’t really that motivated because we homeschool and don’t leave the house all that often. Most of my clothes were old and I wasn’t comfortable or confident in them. Getting dressed was stressful!

That has all changed for me now. Because of these outfit formulas, I know exactly what I’m looking for when I shop. I find a piece like they suggest that is comfortable and makes me feel good – for example, a striped top – and I buy it and trust the formula. I actually have shoes now that aren’t cowboy boots or flip flops from the dollar store (Lol!). I’ve learned how to tuck (or tie!) my shirt and layer things. I’m more confident now and I’m not afraid to put my own spin on things or add a piece that is more my style. I never, ever would have bought most of these clothes without GYPO. I definitely wouldn’t have bought ANY of the shoes!

Now, winter is starting! I wanted to update you guys and give you a chance to join in. You can find all the details here.

Annual Membership Deal

Besides just being life-changing, there is another reason this is the best time to try Get Your Pretty On. Sign ups are open through March for an annual subscription, which starts with Spring 2021 formulas and goes through Winter 2021. This winter, 2020, is the last chance to try a individual seasonal capsule before it’s time to decide if you want to do the annual subscription. You can always sign up for just one season, but the annual is only offered once a year starting with spring. I did the annual last year and I plan to do it again for 2021. It’s cheaper than buying each season separately and there are some great perks. So, I suggest you try winter, and see if you get hooked like I did!
