Yes, there comes a time when every raw milk connoisseur must try yogurt. I looked through several recipes before stumbling upon my favorite one: Yogurt in your Crock Pot over at Sarah’s Musings. It is amazing, and amazingly easy.
Plus, I had the perfect add-in: crushed strawberries from the freezer that I picked this summer with my Mom and sister. I added a cup or so of them to the whole pot and stirred well. I’ve been trying to pay more attention to my serving sizes lately. 1/2 cup of yogurt with some local honey mixed in and a little granola sprinkled on top makes a great meal for breakfast or a late dinner. I’m having it with brown sugar and granola tonight. Lovin’ it! 🙂
Are you a yogurt fan or one who can’t stomach it? What’s your favorite add in?
I’d love to try making yogurt. Does it have to be raw milk?
It was so, so easy. Nope, it sounds like any milk will work. Sarah advises against using ultra-pasteurized and Julie says in her comment here that she uses organic whole milk.

Oh, I love yogurt! We make our own here, too…I use organic whole milk. I love thawed raspberries and a few chocolate chips w/ granola in mine. That’s probably my favorite way to eat it, but it makes GREAT yogurt-fruit smoothies and it’s the only way to get my picky eater to eat fruit. =)
Oh yum, I never thought of adding chocolate chips! Great idea!
Homemade granola!
My favorite recipe is over at Joyful Abode.

I toast up a huge batch and keep it in jars. Love it!
